Continuing my food journey on the West Coast, I tried out these strawberry nachos at the 29th Annual California Strawberry Festival in Oxnard, CA. Though lacking the traditional beef, sour cream, guac, and salsa, this salty yet sweet and savory treat was loaded with strawberries, whipped cream, and cinnamon altogether creating the perfection concoction

Renowned for their exotic flavors like wasabi, red bean, and lychee – The Original Chinatown Ice Cream Factory also offers this black sesame ice cream that’s rich and creamy yet kicked up a notch with black sesame flavor for $4.

Kenka in the East Village offers a wide variety of especially odd eats including fried frog! For under $9, you can sample this amphibian along with other “specials” like bull testicles, chicken gizzards, and steamed pork feet!

Nextdoorganics’ executive chef concocted this odd veggie soda that you can get for $2 at the Dekalb Market in Brooklyn.

Melt Bakery offers the “Thai Fighter” ice cream sandwich – chili chocolate ice cream smacked in between two coconut curry cookies – for $4 at the Hester Street Fair every weekend.

This rice porridge has generous amounts of pork stomach that definitely added some interesting flavors to the congee! This Chinatown eatery offers everything from abalone, frog, pork intestines, liver and more you can add to spice up your congee.
